EXPLORATION
Gathering Voices (est. 1985) is a Bristol-based arts charity working with people of all ages and backgrounds through music, mentoring, youth leadership, community heritage and creative community projects. Based in Southville, we create inclusive opportunities that empower people to explore their interests, develop skills, build confidence and strengthen connections within and between communities.
GV provides fluid, flexible and individualised pathways, shaped by people's different needs, interests and experiences. We build long-term relationships and create opportunities for people to learn, contribute, take on challenges and develop their own ideas. We encourage people to share their knowledge and skills, learn from one another and take an active role in shaping what we do.
With young people, we place particular emphasis on pathways into mentoring and leadership, encouraging pride, responsibility and a strong work ethic. We work with authenticity, allowing people the space to learn, grow and collaborate.

Our community heritage projects bring local people together to explore the places, memories and histories that matter to them. We provide the framework, skills and creative support, while participants decide what to investigate and how to share their discoveries.
By making heritage accessible to people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences, we help build confidence, develop skills and strengthen connections within and between communities, while preserving stories that might otherwise be lost.
